The APECF delegation visits Zambia upon invitation

 A delegation led by Xiao Wunan, Executive Vice Chairman of Asia Pacific Exchange & Cooperation Foundation, visited Zambia at the invitation of the Zambian government and Save Rural Africa Foundation (SARAF) in November. During the visit, APECF held comprehensive discussions and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SARAF to join hands with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to launch, organize and participate in Africa Community Based Natural Resource Management activities.

 

 The delegation paid a courtesy call on Mr. Kenneth Kaunda, the first president of Zambia and the father of African independence. The two sides exchanged views on APECF’s current situation and future. At the same time, Mr. Kaunda accepted an invitation to serve as a Co-Chairman of APECF and pledged to do his utmost to support the work of APECF. On the 14th of November, Executive Vice Chairman Mr. Xiao Wunan was interviewed by The Post at Hotel Intercontinental Lusaka where the delegation stayed. Mr. Xiao expressed his views about APECF taking part in activities of Save Rural Africa Program and the establishment of multilateral cooperation between Asia Pacific and Africa. On the 15th of November, the delegation was invited to visit the Presidential Palace and the two sides exchanged views on topics of common interest.
